So while browsing for woolen products made in USA. I found Defeet. They make socks and cycling gear in their factory outside Hickory, NC. Undershirts, gloves, socks, arm warmers, knee warmers, and some other stuff I’m forgetting.
All of it looks great. There’s also a custom shop for adding your logo to socks or arm warmers (minimum order is between 5 and 12 dozen depending on the product).
At $9 for 3 pairs, their ‘grab bag’ socks are probably the cheapest option I’ve seen for made in usa socks.
Bound - Custom Journals made in NC
Bound Custom Journals
This is pretty cool. Instead of hunting for a great journal/calendar/idea book, you can have one custom printed. I think I need a little note pad with a few month calendars in the front, and pages and pages of to do and idea lists…
Oh and it’s made in Durham, NC

Pretty cool. Chairs are between $60 and $160.
Link to a cute Etsy store. These are cute pins and magnets about Charlotte, Asheville, and North Carolina in general.
Also a list of stores in Charlotte that carry these pins
Thorlos Socks. Made in Statesville, NC. They are $15 a pair, which seems pretty high for athletic socks, but they have a lot of great reviews. Anyone bought them? I’ll have to give them a try next time I buy socks.
You hear a lot about local beer, but what about local Vodka? It never occurred to me to look into where the harder alcohols are made (being a bourbon drinker, I know bourbon is made in Kentucky), but I saw this news article about a distillery in Charlotte.
The vodka is highly rated and $24 a bottle.
I’m not a vodka drinker. Has anyone tried it?
