Banana’s are one of those fruits I consume a lot of, but are not available domestically. Now some farmers are trying to grow them in Louisiana.
You know what’s next – B-A-N-A-N-A-S!
Did you know you can grown bananas in Louisiana? I sure didn’t, but you can and people are! For years actually – I’ve just been out of the loop on this one. However, most of the bananas New Orleanians grow are either small and ornamental or just good for cooking.
However, that’s all about to change. Read more at Locallectual.com…
Hello All,
I just wanted to write real quick and explain the infrequent posting as of late. I have been really, really busy. Starting classes, John is home, visitors, etc. And now I am sick. Ugh. I got the summer cold that’s been going around.
I really do want to get back to posting, but I’m having a hard time forming coherent thoughts in my cloudy psuedopherine addled head.
Everyone have a great week and don’t get sick!

Great Article.
Don’t reward these companies for slapping a patriotic design on a foreign made product. Pay attention. Also send me your “Red White and Blue Washing” finds for my wall of shame.
My other pet peeve on this issue are companies like “Acme USA” or slogans like “America’s best widget” who use USA and America on their packaging but in fact all their products are made overseas.
Some of the nicest looking recycled innertube bags I’ve seen. Made in Richmond, VA. 9 more days on Kickstarter!
We handcraft bags & accessories made from recycling tractor tire inner tubes. We collect the inner tubes from tires centers throughout the USA before they are disposed of in landfills. Next, the inner tubes are cleaned, cut & combined with premium leather & hardware to create an incredibly durable luxury bag. Our large bags have an interior LED light, large zipper & cell phone pockets.
You should totally come out to Drop !t, Vol. 3 at the Neighborhood Theater in NoDa on Friday! A great show comprised centered around house music, and with the most mindblowing laser show I’ve ever seen. One of the cheapest ways to have fun, and a great way to start the weekend off! Presented by Sugar Society.
I’ll be there representing Billionaires Apparel and backing up my good friend DJ Jaws, the opening DJ. Look for me in the safety vest and kandi up to my shoulders!
So, if anybody on here from North Carolina can tell me good places to get tattoos done, around Charlotte or Greensboro, I’d be very appreciative!
Fu’s in Noda. They have about 6 really good artists there.
It’s just about that time of year where wives lose their husbands and Sunday afternoons (and evenings) are spent in front of the tv – football season. And there’s an unlikely player taking the field this season – local foods.
Local foods have made a prominent appearance at the New York Giants training camp at the University of Albany. And this is not just a quick run…

Vita Mix blenders are made in USA (and really expensive!). But the company has always produced their blenders in Ohio and are expanding.
Saturday: $0 - I was visiting my mom and my grandmother. We ended up eating at McDonalds for lunch and local pizzeria for dinner. I didn’t pay for either, but I think they cancel each other out
Sunday: $0 - Bojangles lunch (seriously my grandmother has a fast food problem)
Monday:$0 - CNC Turning Class
Tuesday: $67 - groceries at Trader Joes, bought way to much and had to buy some meat since the hubby is on his way home.
Wednesday: $71 - a (made in usa) dress I ordered from fab is on it’s way…
Thursday: $0 - Intro to CNC class
Friday: $0 - So far. We may end up going out.
Busy week! I meant to go to the Bradford store, but ended up working late and not going. I did a pretty terrible job on food this week. My grandmother is a really picky eater so it’s really hard to appease her tastes. I’m mostly glad I managed to avoid the K&W Cafeteria. If we go to a local cafe for lunch, she is totally baffled by the choices and ingredients she has never heard of. I am however really excited about the dress I ordered.
Also my food expenses are about to go up because my husband’s coming home! He’s been working a summer internship, but he’ll be home by the time you read this!
Created from numerous requests for a more fashionable sandal, OKA b. was born the fashion baby of Okabashi. Okabashi opened its doors in 1984 in Buford, Georgia and has since sold more than 25 million pairs of shoes!
Their shoes are recyclable, waterproof, reflexology-inspired and most…
I’ve mentioned OKA b. before, but she has a much more detailed review. They’re made in Duluth, GA.
Good overview of advances in robotics, 3D printing, and AI that is making the US more competitive in manufacturing.
Last year, we reported about leaders in Washington attempting to get all goods sold in the Smithsonian’s gift shops to be made in the USA. Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont was joined by other leaders in insisting that the taxpayer-funded museum should do its part to promote American…
Are US Made gifts on their way to state park gift shops?
